My Essentials: Skincare

Wednesday, 28 January 2015

Most easily forgotten, but quite honestly the most important step of any routine. Skincare now excites me as much (if not more) than make up which is something I never thought I would hear myself say!

Nivea Moisturising Primer for Dry or Oily Skin

Not the most exciting I must admit, but I’ve had a roller coaster of a year with regard to moisturiser. I had always told myself I have oily skin, and because of that I have avoided moisturisers as I thought that would only worsen the issue. How wrong I was. During the summer I do have oily and for this I decided to try out the Nivea Moisturising Primer for Oily Skin. Not only did this eliminate my oil, it made my base application much easier with a lovely finish. Moving through to the winter I began to notice that my application was become slightly more patchy and decided to pick up the Dry Skin version. Again this transformed my application and made me appreciate the importance of a great moisturiser! I’m officially a convert and will never go back!

Evelom Hot Cloth Cleanser

Now I must say that 2014 was definitely the year of the hot muslin cloth cleansers. And boy am I happy to have caught on to this trend. This product in particularly transformed my skin. I was certainly one to suffer from problem skin, but this miracle product has turned this around. It leaves my skin feeling more clean that anything has before, and does the job better than any other hot cloth cleanser I have tried. The only pitfall is the price, but it lasts a hell of a long time and is worth every penny!

Clarisonic Mia 2

I’ll put my hands up and say this is a slight cheat as it was a Christmas present. But it blew me away in 2014 and I have landed here is 2015 with transformed skin. Pretty impressive for a face brush hey!? I was very lucky to receive this for Christmas having lusted after one for so long. I must admit that after hearing mixed reviews on it I was a tad nervous that I wouldn’t get on with it but I was quickly proven wrong. My skin now glows from within from this brush, and if I’m feeling fancy, it works wonderfully with my Evelom Cleanser. Just leave me whilst I die in Skincare heaven…

Brown Sugar & Lime Range - Soap and Glory

Our skin on our body is equally important as the skin on our face although in the winter months it tends to get neglected! I know its not a product, it’s a range, but I have to include them as it would be rude not too. They are all delicious! It’s the Soap and Glory Body Butter, Shower Gel and Scrub all in the scent Brown Sugar and Lime. Could that scent get anymore perfect? If these were edible I’d be the first to try them! These all feel so luxurious regardless of the small price tag, and feel wonderful on the skin and leave you smelling and feeling divine. I couldn’t rave about these enough.

My Essentials: Starting University

Monday, 1 December 2014

I am now two weeks away from finishing my first semester at uni. With deadlines on my mind, I thought I'd do a uni based post..

This counts as doing work right?

Brand Focus - Sally Hansen

Sunday, 30 November 2014

Unlike the majority of the beauty loving population, I do not have a mass collection of nail varnishes. I have never liked having my nails done professionally but have never seemed to find good quality, but good value nail varnishes. Clearly I haven't been looking in the right place.

September Favourites ♡

Monday, 29 September 2014

Summer has officially ended! You may think I would've said this a month ago, however our British summer has a way of playing tricks on us and often saves its last couple of rays for days in September that you’re least expecting. We all have to admit tho.. I’m a little excited for Autumn. My duster coats, boots and vampy lipsticks are all crawling out of the woodwork screaming to be taken out again but I’m not sure if its quite acceptable yet! Anyway, best get on to my favourites this September.

Get the Look - Khloe Kardashian @ The Oscars

Tuesday, 18 March 2014

Following on from my Kim Kardashian get the look post, I've decided to do my next one on her sister Khloe as she looked equally beautiful at this event! Khloe tends to go for a more dark and vampy look in comparison to Kim, however I do absolutely love this look hence why I wanted to show you how to recreate it!

Quick Review: Topshop Matte Nail Varnish

Friday, 14 March 2014

A couple of days ago I was doing my usual search through my favourite online shops and saw Topshop had free shipping! This doesn't happen a lot so I had to take full advantage of this of course.

February Favourites ♡

Monday, 10 March 2014

February has been an interesting month for me makeup wise. Some days I've piled it on, yet others I've tried to go without as I'm trying to get my skin in top condition before I go away in April. However as always I do have some makeup favourites as well as skin care, hair and teeth faves! I've also popped in a few other things I've been loving at the end of the post, as there has been a few!
