Fake Tan - St. Tropez vs. St. Moriz
Similar in appearance, similar in the name but most definitely not similar in price. St Moriz most definitely gives this cult beauty product a run for its money. Both with green undertones, these self tanners ensure you do not end up looking 'tangoed' after application and leave a dark finish. For best results both tans must be washed off the next day to avoid looking patchy. St Tropez definitely excels in the fact that the tan lasts almost a week, where as St Moriz lasts a few days. However considering the price difference, it may be worth the time taken to reapply it to save you a good £25!
My winner - St. Moriz
Eye Shadow Palettes - Naked Palette vs. MUA Undressed Palette
The second dupe I have here is again featuring another beauty cult - the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I must admit this post may be slightly biased as I am a huge lover of these and have my hands on all three in the collection. However the budget make up brand MUA have obviously caught onto how popular these palettes have in fact been and have bought out their on version. Both featuring 12 very similar shades you may think MUA have clearly won this, but there is no denying the quality of the Naked shadows. They are so easy to blend, ultra pigmented and quite simply delicious, and at around £2.80 per colour you can't really go wrong considering it is a high end palette. Nowadays it also comes with a brush and eyeshadow primer which is an absolute bonus. Although MUA do attempt to give you a 'brush' with their palette it is quite honestly useless and you would be better off using your fingers! On the other hand, if you are just starting out using eyeshadows in general the MUA palette may be a safer bet as you can get the opportunity to try out the shades before making the investment. I would also recommend the MUA palette for people that may only like a couple of the shades on the Naked Palette and do not want to spend the money on the whole load of them!
My winner - Naked Palette
Facial Cleansers - Eve Lom vs. Boots Botanics
Before trying Eve Lom's Cleanser I was completely new to the idea of hot cloth cleansers, now theres no going back. The Eve Lom Cleanser melts your make sup off with the smallest amount of product and can get off even the most stubborn waterproof mascara. I will now not touch make up wipes after using this beauty. I have suffered from bad acne on my cheeks and forehead and after trying almost ever sort of product on the market this is the only thing I have found that works - suggesting my only problem has been not taking off my make up properly! Always the most simple things! Enriched with my favourite rose hip oil the Boots botanics hot cloth cleanser offers a more affordable option, it does the job however it does take more working into the skin and may sometimes leave residue if not taken off completely. At around five times the price the Eve Lom cleanser seems ludicrous however I am a die hard fan and will blow my beauty budget on this gem any day as it guarantees me clear skin.
My winner - (I hate to say it but...) Eve Lom!!
For my next dupes post was thinking about trying out these products -
Clarasonic vs. No.7 Cleansing brush
Benefits POREfessional vs. Maybelline Babyskin
Bioderma Water vs. Garnier Water
Any thoughts?
Until then! X
